I kind of had four: 1. Become an anatomist/pathologist. 2. Learn all the languages I want to. 3. Become a writer. 4. Become a musician.

I'm working on all of them all the time, it seems :) I'm at uni studying Anatomy right now, but I'm not entirely sure what's coming after it. I'm also teaching myself some languages, although the list keeps growing of what I want to learn. I'm writing all the time - asides from my novel, I have two other projects in planning (and two former projects that I MAY work on later), and I'm adding lyrics and poems to my collection. I guess with the musician thing, writing lyrics is as close as I'm getting right now, as I'm useless on my guitar, and don't know if I have the patience to learn.

I think perhaps it's because I didn't make dreams that were hugely unlikely to attain :) I always wanted to travel the world too, and I seem to be starting on the parts of the world that I don't have a HUGE desire to visit (Tanzania in 2008, and Thailand in 2012); I want to see everywhere, but I mostly want to do a road trip of both Europe and the States with my sister :)

I'm fluent in German and English - I did a bit of Russian in uni but ending up quitting so I can teach myself instead; I just find it easier. I'm teaching myself Latin using my sister's textbook(She studies Classics at uni, so I'll be roped into Ancient Greek soon :P). I'm trying to improve on the French I learned in school. I've done the tiniest bit of Italian, so that's also on my list. The ones I want to learn and haven't started yet are Czech/Polish (can't decide which, maybe both), Slovenian, a Scandinavian language (can't decide which!), and Japanese (but that's never going to happen haha!). I prefer to teach myself, so time and motivation is a big part of it - I still have a long time :) And I can add Romanian to the "ones I'm interested in" list :)

It's all right except for the past participles - "nehmen" and "sprechen" are irregular so become "genommen" and "gesprochen", but otherwise, perfect :)

I think the only thing I regret about studying biomedical science is the fact that there wasn't any leeway with modules. I would have loved to do more pure anatomy.

Ah, that was the beauty of my university - you don't actually specialize until third year. First year we take general biology, and then in second year, we got to choose between various modules; some ran in 1st semester, some in 2nd, some all year. The only catch was that for each degree program there are four or so prerequisites that you must take in 2nd year to be considered in 3rd year for your subject. This was one of the reasons I chose this uni; even though I knew since about 8 I wanted to do Anatomy, there was still that option to do a different degree if I decided.

I needed to go to my uni for the purposes of HPC and IBMS accreditation. It's just one of those things unfortunately.

Why did you want to become an anatomist?

Well, I think it started when I was about 8, and my older sister gave me a body book that she had and didn't want any more. I read it cover and cover about a million times and loved telling the family things they didn't know. They were a bit put out that I was so young and knew I wanted to work with cutting up dead bodies, but actually I think my mum telling people I wanted to be a pathologist :L It's been my career goal ever since :)
