Anatomist/musician/author :) Preferably the latter two would be more part time things, as I'd hate the pressure of having to put out records or books. For that reason I'd like to self-publish/produce, because I can't stand the idea that some company would have more rights to my work than I would! So for this, I'd like to get the anatomist job first so I have the money, haha :P Anatomy has been my passion since I was about 9 :)

I'm doing pretty well so far; I'm going into my third year of an Anatomy degree next month. I wrote a lot of "lyrics" when I was younger, and when I realized they were just a joke, I stopped writing and didn't actually get back into it until some point in 2008. I've made up a few original tunes for keyboard but I'm pretty useless there, and I'm even more useless at playing my guitar, so we'll see where that goes. Similarly I wrote many stories from a young age, and have always had a huge imagination; then I moved on to more fanfic style work, i.e. very OTT plots, unresearched, and my characters ready-made from my favorite bands. I'm currently working on my first serious novel, and I'm pleased with where that's going.

So I guess you could say I have a pretty good chance at realizing these dreams, if I keep working hard :)

I'm thinking this might be a dumb question, but what exactly does an anatomist do?? I'm intrigued! haha good luck in all your endeavors :) And I think it's awesome that you're writing a novel!

Hey :) It's not such a silly question, as there's not really a specific job of "anatomist", I don't think. It depends where you want to specialize, i.e. you can do research (at a body level, or molecular for instance), medicine, stuff like that. I want to be a pathologist though; on a gross body level. I've wanted to do post-mortems since I was about 8; sounds a bit creepy but that's when I found my love for anatomy :) So forensic pathologist is closer to my dream :)

Thanks about the novel; I'm sitting at 55.000 words right now, and I'm really happy with it :)

It doesn't sound creepy! I'm jealous of people that always have known what they want to do, I still have absolutely no idea.

And at 55,000 you already have the length of a romance novel! haha

The thing is that I'm still not sure I'll end up doing it. I really want to do an undergraduate medicine degree, but I have no idea how it's going to happen, money-wise; I'll have to enquire and see what the grant body does with a second degree! For forensic pathology, I also think I'll have to do forensics, so instead of medicine, I may just try to go for forensic medicine; but as I say I have no idea if I'll even be able to manage a second degree at all :/ We'll see when it comes, I guess!

Argh, I hate sappy romance novels :P I can guarantee it isn't one (Love is a running theme, but not exactly in a positive light!) :P
